Not trying to correct you but just asking. I thought the carpet blades were double sided not hooked? I was thinking the hooped blades were the ones used for shingles.
Depends on what you are calling carpet blades, these are what I mean...

Rada wheelie knife sharpener
Same. It works really well.Gave you a like for the Rada sharpener. I had never heard of it until your post. I have tried a number of cheap sharpeners in the past and none of them work well. This one is amazingly simple and turns a dull edge into a working edge in 60 seconds...and for less than $10? Amazing...
I thought it was this post I commented it, but it wasn't. I took a butter knife that had the flat blade part with no serration on it, And put a shaving edge on it with my Rada sharpener, just to see if I could. Love that little thingGave you a like for the Rada sharpener. I had never heard of it until your post. I have tried a number of cheap sharpeners in the past and none of them work well. Sitting over here with 30+ chigger bites, thinking "I know better."Permethrin spray
Insect Shield company sells clothes with a lifetime treatment (good for 70 washings) and you can also send them your clothes and they will treat it with the same lifetime treatment. They charge by the pound.Permethrin spray for your clothes for ticks. I never get ticks if I have long sleeves, long nylon hiking pants, gaiters, and a hat and it was all sprayed with permethrin recently. I don't think picardin or deet works nearly as well (don't think picardin works on ticks at all really) and deet will fog your plastic glasses and melt other plastics and absorbs into your skin. I was taking a break sitting in a field and looked down and a spider crawled onto my permethrin pants and it had a seizure and died (really weird but I watched in the name of science).
I use one. An ebike would be toast after the 2and or 3rd creek crossing even if they were legal in my state.Any regular bicycle instead of an e-bike?
I also bought a Rada sharpener due to this thread. They're so simple and work awesome. Thanks!A thermacell
