Rappel rope length

What length of rope are you guys carrying into the woods for rappelling and what pouch do you recommend for carrying it?

I'm carrying 60ft of Oplux in a fleece pouch from DanO. I'm sure, others have between 30 and 40ft. I like the extra rope, just in case and don't mind the little bit of extra weight and bulk.

I ordered 30 feet of Teufelberger REsc Tech 8mm from Danno in October. Was not able to hunt this fall due to illness, sold my saddle and currently have an order for a TX5 (will be a few months). Still in the bedroom waiting to be tested. My plan for next fall is 2-tether climbing, and then rappel down. After doing more reading and browsing, already thinking I should have ordered 40-50 feet. I was reading where some people use double rope
technique (one long rope) and after rappel down just pull down on one end of rope, no need for any pull down cord. Anyway, my thoughts are get at least 40 feet.

I have 45 ft of Resc tech/safeguard/quicklink in a Tx5 large pouch

I’m carrying 36’ of Sterling 9mm HTP and it’s been plenty long enough. Where I hunt, 18’- 20’ is usually fairly high due to the undergrowth and all the scrubby trees.

45’ if SRT
35’ if other methods

If using JX3, just fold it with hardware attached and hang it with gear tie from frame

If soft saddle, DanO dump pouch

40' of oplux with a quick link to attach to tree and madrock safeguard binered to my bridge...fits in front pouch of backpack...this can also double as your tether while hunting...and rappeling is bad ass...lol

Multicam options Looks pretty slick

40' dragged behind me after soaked in Tink's 69 doe in heat buck lure. Then I leave it dangling out of the tree like an enormous scent wick when hunting.
Actually, I just haul it in a cheapo Amazon dump pouch. They're pretty durable and cheap.

30’ HTP 9mm stored inside water bottle pouch from doublesteps.com holds my line, my petzl delta, and safeguard all in there with room ! Favorite purchase. Downside.... a lot sitting on my right side

I have 35' of Sterling HTP 9mm and I wish it was 5' longer.
I have had a couple of times where I rappelled down to the bottom of my rope where it was not touching the ground.

yeah I have done that a couple times even with 40' of oplux...wish I had 5' more also

40ft. of Sterling Oplux, I had @4090Sharps make me a nice roll up pouch with pockets that carries my MR Safeguard, biner, delta quicklink and my pull down down cord. Before the pouch I used either a tethrd sys hauler or a TL pouch. Carrying all that rope and stuff gets kind of heavy on the saddle so in the early season I use a Tactisaddle with a EWO OneTigres battlebelt attached with molle loop quick attach loops to my saddle to keep the weight on my hips and not on the saddle itself I liked how it worked alot. I move to a TL Ambush Lite later in the season because its just a bigger more flowing saddle that I can put over my bibs or layers. Although I like carrying the rappel rope on my saddle or a BB, I am considering moving it to my pack instead but I just like the security of knowing I always have a way within arms reach of rappeling down if I need to because I one stick almost exclusively when I'm hunting from a saddle.
