Anybody killed with that 2" head? What bow setup and what was the performance?
What size and length in the Doug Fir's?Checked the bow and it is 57# at my draw. I already had some 60/65 cedars that were finished other than cutting to length and mounting points. cut a few of them down and set up one each of 125, 145 and 160 tips. The 145 flys consistently the best but the other 2 fly well if my release is clean. The 125 seems to be the most critical of a really clean release. Got a half dozen of the Doug Firs setup so I can play with bare shaft and fletched. Hope fully get to shoot them tomorrow after this rain moves out.
Shafts are 11/32 and come 32" long. The test pack came in 5 pound spine increments(3 spine ranges, 4 shafts each) and they were grouped in 10 grain ranges. I set up 2 60/65 shafts and 2 65/70 and paired with each with a 145 and 160 grain field tip. The 60/65 with the 160 head is the only one that is a little touchy and it's not much. I cut them down to make a 29.5" arrow BOP and they are 565-580 TAW. Very pleased with how the test shafts turned out and how well they shoot. What size and length in the Doug Fir's?
