How many of you all are using a boat to access your hunting area?

Where the skys are so blue!
Dont wear hipboots while riding. You go over, you won’t be able to kick them off to swim.

Miracle I'm not dead yet.

3:51 for backflip into a pool with breathable (no floating neoprene) waders.

I've gone swimming several times in hip and chest waders. Only issue i can see is for bad swimmers or people panicking.

I watched that exact same video. Seeing stuff like that getting debunked always makes me think of how many old wives tales that I currently believe to be true are actually just that, old wives tales.

Nice controlled conditions, when **** hits the fan trust me you don’t want hipboots on when making it to the bank, at least I didn’t. Not trying to be arrogant or a know it all so don’t take it that way. However I’m certain I have more experience in boats than 99% of people on this form and probably 99.99% more first hand experience of cold water boat wrecks. Hipboots are not beneficial in anyway when trying to tread water. Wear a life jacket and kill switch and you’ll mitigate most of the vulnerability but when your forced to swim in cold water you don’t want the hinderance of hipboots. Also, telling yourself you won’t panic is simply lying to yourself. I’m a free diving spear fisherman, I’m just as comfortable in the water as I am on land but that cold water and shock are factors you can’t really prepare for.
If you still disagree that’s fine, however I’ve become overly cautious from my experiences and would recommend not wearing them for those still on the fence.

Best of luck in the outdoors

Found the holly grail.... My buddy bought another 13' gheenoe so I'm selling my 15'4" for his old one. This is an original, Georgia made boat with the aluminum fixtures....pre plastic. Picking up some fiberglass from a surfboard building friend tomorrow and I'm going to get to work on some small repairs. I'll do a repaint, then I'm dropping the 8hp Nissan on it and we're going for a ride.

I’m not far from you here on chickamauga. Be careful when it starts getting colder the fog can be tough to deal with. Watts bar water level will drop about 5ft so be aware of that as well. Good luck hunting, this TVA land is nice to be able to hunt.

Since it's that time of the year...here's the 2022 armada

The kayak has been sacrificed to a beaver pond for retrieving ducks and crossing the pond to a deer spot.

The SA Cash-Money Honey served faithfully for 12 out of 15 days of early teal, and went straight into squirrel and hog hunting after that. I'd say she's seen service easily 20 days out of September.

Too bad hunting from a boat is now illegal on army corp land in SC. Was a good thing while it lasted.

OK
Tried this last year in Kansas on some public. It was more crowded than the WIHA.
