    Spartan Forge Rant

I tried to like SF but ended up canceling and just keeping OnX. Just easier to use.

Fess up, who hasn't shot their bow since last season ended?

I’m the same. It’s how I relax. Most off days I shoot for an hour or so. In the summer I’m in a 3D league. Although, during spring and summer months fishing takes over and shooting is a little more infrequent.

Favorite Hunting Clothing Brand (where you like the camo pattern)

I’m all in on Sitka. Some in solids, some in subalpine and some in EV2. It kept me warm in late season and held up to what I put it through. I argue with my huntimg buddies about this and have determined it’s all just personal preference.

    Trying out the Panther platform

https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/anyone-else-see-this-panther-climbing-platform.55297/ There’s another thread on it. Seems the idea is pretty well received.

    Standard, small, micro?

I shoot standard size arrows. I’m in a 3D league and I score just as good as the guys shooting fancy expensive arrows. I think some guys put money into arrows, some into saddles, ropes and sticks and others put money into their bows. It just whatever floats your boat.

At what distance do your kill your deer?

2 years ago I killed a buck at 31 yds. Last year I killed 6 deer all 21 yds and under. 35 yds is my limit that I’ll reach out to. My main reason is the deer I hunt will definitely jump the string and I doubt I would have a clean shot any further out than that.

    Tree Styx

Not trying to sell you on them, just giving you my experience with those sticks. I used the Latitude sticks all last season. I had zero issues with them in terms of safety issues, there was some concern about the tie down method; or noise. It is only anecdotal evidence at best, but I managed...

Who uses the notch v3 quickly?

My opinion is that the GriGri or GriGri + is much better, but you know what they say about opinions.

Who uses the notch v3 quickly?

I appreciate your concern for my safety(I don't mean this sarcastically either). I have been trained on how to properly rappel (both in the Marine Corps and PD I currently work for, which I would guess is adequate for saddle hunting). I probably described it poorly. I was not speaking of the...

    Quitting coffee

I actually already did that. I like the stuff, but I find its price to be way to high for the amount you get. It cost me $30 for a container with 30 servings. Tea costs roughly .25 per serving, less if you go the common bagged route.

Is there a tea pot that you would recommend?

    Quitting coffee

My routine started with a pot of coffee a day. That lasted years because I work weird shifts, back then overnights or afternoons. It was the only way I could get through a workday and then all the activities with the family. Since switching to day shift about 5 years ago I’ve limited it to 3...

    Quitting coffee

I’m not sure why I’m doing it, probably has something to do with turning 50 this year and starting to face all that comes with getting old, but I’ve decided to eliminate caffeine. I enjoy the whole ritual of having a few cups of coffee in the morning, which I’ve replace with lower caffeinated...
