    New guy Amsteel question

jhonsvick, for a linesman belt I bought one that is sold as a linesman belt. The most important thing I found was to get one that is thick. I bought two ropeman's, but they sure are popular right now, every website, Amazon included, have them on backorder. I bought a sitdrag for a saddled and...

Hey hey hey. First time in the saddle

As this is my first foray into saddle hunting, I went with a sitdrag. Having looked at others, I may upgrade after I've tried this for a while. Looking into steps vs. platform now. It's October, I'm in hunting prep mode :)

    Bridge question

I am a newbie to saddle hunting, still acquiring gear. One thought crossed my mind, has anyone used a ropeman for an adjustable bridge, at least until you determine what is comfortable for you? This would not be a permanent solution, but until I know what is comfortable for me, I figured it...

    Tether Question

Thanks Dale, I'll keep that in mind. At REI, my primary thing to look for is a backup harness and Ropeman 1s. The REI here in DC is a flagship REI, so they have them in stock. Still researching ropes, trying to learn as much as I can before I go.

    New guy Amsteel question

You can get it on Amazon, I bought 25 feet of 1/4" for $25, the splicing kit was a little more, $37. Just search Amsteel, they have a variety of thicknesses.

    New guy Amsteel question

Sorry, I'm new and still getting used to the lingo. I was referring to the tether. I am going to use DIY Sportsman's setup of a climbing harness in conjunction with a SitDrag, and am research various parts. I bought some Amsteel for the bridge, but I am still deciding what I should use for...

    New guy Amsteel question

Anyone used amsteel as your safety line? I think the ability to splice it easily would make it good for that, and it can handle the weight.
