    Just getting the kids in the woods is important. There's a lot that can go wrong with being elevated. I'll have my boy in a ground blind with me this year with no plans to get in a tree any time soon. Plenty of deer have been killed from the ground.

    Hunting dead trees!

    I killed my first bow deer from a dead ash tree. I figured it was fine since I'm 130 lbs. It was a poor decision and I got lucky. It swayed a ton in a light breeze. When I went back a week later, that tree had fallen down.

    Try the lambda layer @enkriss . Swipe the compass in the lower corner. You can go to settings (gear icon in the lower right) from the lambda layer to select contours, etc.

    I only use it for the UAV base layer. The imagery is way better than either OnX or Huntstand. I primarily use Huntstand for waypoints, tracks, etc. Huntstand (and OnX) has them beat in every feature aside from imagery. How'd you get a desktop version????

    What pack do you use for whitetail meat hauling?

    I just picked up the Alps Commander Lite on camofire for cheap. I'm eager to see how it works out. The plan is to keep it in the vehicle until it's needed. I'm okay with multiple trips to the car versus dragging a deer solo.
