    Gear Hauling and Safety?

    Even if you leave your gear at the base of the tree there's still a chance you will land on it when you fall. I've never seen anyone wear a climbing helmet when they climb a tree. Smacking your head is probably way more likely than falling all the way to the ground if you stay tied in.

    ABC Guide harness is way cheaper than the ones you linked. I sewed tubular webing to mine to make linemans loops. Webing wraps around the belt part.
