    Cable vs amsteel aider

Ive done both and went with the cable aiders hands down. Cable stores easy and no fishing for the amsteel aider thats blowing in the wind!!!! Less movement for deer to see.

    Burned Out!!! Tips?

I am a veteran hunter and into the triple digits on whitetail kills, am 0-31 on my hunts this year. I have saw deer only six times on 31 hunts and have had 0 chances for a shot. However during this time I have saw over 150 people. Public hunting in MA is tough considering I used to have a...

Need Help Choosing Caliber for New Rifle

I have own or have owned 30-06, 270, 30-30, and a 7 mag. I stopped using the other 3 rifles when I got the 7 mag. Shoots flat and hits hard and recoil isn't bad to me.

    Best Backpack

Just used the Eberlestock X2 pack and had everything in my saddle arsenal along with a Bennelli wing strapped into the right side with absolutely no issues. This included a predator xl platform, saddle, ropes, gear hanger, knee pads, extra jacket, ammo, kill kit, yeti rambler, extra gloves...

    Cutting Down My LW Sticks!

I kinda of agree about the cable aiders, but I want a little more height capability. Figure it will take some getting used to. I had the "cleats" in my boots get stuck in the skinny cable a time or two and that's no fun.

    Cutting Down My LW Sticks!

It will still work though. Oh, I also made amsteel aiders for all 4 sticks but didn't like fishing for the amsteel in the dark with my foot. I bought one 18" cable aider and put that on my bottom stick. It's easy to find and does not move when your foot hits it. Probably going to get 3 more...

    Cutting Down My LW Sticks!

I cut all my lw sticks to 22 inch spacing, double stepped everything, and stealth stripped everything. Also made amsteel daisy chains and sold the original straps. These changes were a game changer for me. Also I am 6' 1" and should probably cut the sticks to 20". At 59, I am not as agile as...

Best backpack for sticks, platform, etc.

Did 4 miles in the Eberlestock X2 yesterday on public. Had my platform, sticks, saddle, knee pads, linesman belt, tether and all my gear in the pack while scouting. A comfortable pack!

    Best Backpack

Could pack out meat for sure, but if you had it loaded to gills with extra clothes it would probably be tough. But I've had it out about 4 times and can definitely see packing out a deboned deer with and extra layer. Of course you could always strap the extra layers on the outside of the pack...
