    Accuracy from saddle vs stand

Aaah gotcha… The concepts of archery are the same fundamentally while shooting from elevation. The only true difference is foot placement and how to compensate for the down angle while keeping t-form. I tell guys all the time that you should practice how you hunt. I shoot at a block cube from...

    Accuracy from saddle vs stand

I’d anchor prior to drawing, you’d rather know your footing or knee placement is stable before you draw and lean. Now that’s with a traditional draw level then bend down.

    Accuracy from saddle vs stand

That’s accurate for most. Aiming level and then bending at the waist allows you to keep proper t-form and prevents the illusion that you’re undershooting.

    Accuracy from saddle vs stand

That’s definitely not the same for me, I get the jitters every time lol

    Accuracy from saddle vs stand

Come to the light, the JX3 light…. lol seriously though, it’s learning to trust your equipment. And a little trick most guys don’t bring up, is the importance of your anchoring foot for stability. Your lead foot doesn’t get weighted the same in a saddle (minus standing directly up on a platform)...

    Official Florida Saddle Hunters Thread

Most of our WMA’s have a lottery system so your hunting season is pretty dependent on what you draw and where. We also only get 5 deer per season. I wouldn’t get too jealous of us unless you managed to own a large parcel of private acreage and you liked hunting hogs or iguanas (those you can...

I ran a 14’ jon boat, so that I can pull it up on the shore. I’ve seen typical bay boats get sunk out there. The tide drops and the boats are literally laying in the sand bars, then as it comes back in it can swamp the sides of the boat when it gets choppy…

    In between saddle sizes??

I’d listen to these guys. Quite a few of them have spent multiple seasons in that exact saddle and they wouldn’t steer you wrong

I got archery opening weekend 5 minutes from the house and I also got the general gun opener 5 min from my house. Both are Friday thru Sunday hunts

    How Many Platforms

I like the hyperlite but it had a little more flex than I wanted. It’s perfect for my wife though who weighs half what I do and with it being as light as it is, she doesn’t complain on longer walks with it (a win in my book). For me it’s sort of like you said, having the ability to hook to...

    Nose Jammer

I might believe that study to be accurate. Also consider that most drug canine are German shepherds and their noses aren’t among the top 7 dog breeds for nose olfactory cells. Bloodhounds and bassets being the dogs with the most. A whitetail deer by comparison has about 70 million more olfactory...

    How Many Platforms

Depends on a couple of things: A- how well it packs/how you carry it in B- how far you are walking. Personal opinion is if I am walking a greater distance, one pound can factor considerably especially if it’s hot weather. However equally or more importantly how well it packs. I love the Onyx...

    new saddle

I prefer weight rated buckles on both the waist and leg straps however I’ve used g hooks with no issues on the leg straps. I’m not a fan of rope belts for a couple reasons- one is that it doesn’t open, the other is that rope is thin and would be a danger of cutting into your skin or torso should...
