Need a better haul rope solution

Buddy of mine has something similar to that. The hanger threads into the cap.

Need a better haul rope solution

If that is it, gonna be a hard sell for me. I like the idea of straps or a sling with S biners for the gear, but the majority of the benefit to a bow hanger is you can position your bow anywhere, away from the tree. It does suck to screw in depending on the tree, but so damn convenient.

For the guys using the LW seats

I have a lone wolf seat on a piece of 1" aluminum post, the same as the LW stick, with nylon spacers. No problems. 1 recommendation if you do it, use a bushing. The wall thickness of the sticks is pretty thin. Doesn't take a whole lot to distort the holes in 1/8" wall aluminum.

please critique my DIY climbing stick idea

I drew something like that up to. I agree that provides a TON of surface area for welding, much stronger for sure. The one downside is stack ability. The distance between sticks would double. I think @raisins has some R+D ahead of him ,

Agreed, there would have to be some thought put into step and standoff length, but it gives a general idea.

I wouldn't put holes in the steps and standoffs, they take the brunt of the force. @ctbreitwieser might be on to something too. I also like what others are saying about shorter standoffs. These are 4" steps, 2" standoffs. 1.34#s a piece

.75" all around. In terms of weight savings, tube size doesn't save a whole lot, and you start to sacrifice structural integrity. Not saying it wouldn't work, but you may very well get some flex at the fastening location somewhere in the middle.

.75" x 4" steps, that shed some decent weight

please critique my DIY climbing stick idea

Bored at work, figured I would give a visual of what I think your talking about for help. After I made, I did a calculation of mass for some insight, in 6061, without your supports, your over 3 lbs for a 24 inch stick.

    Dog tests on scent control

For the references made to military NBC suits...... These suits are SATURATED in carbon, vastly higher amounts than you could ever purchase in an piece of hunting attire. AS someone stated earlier, literally looks like your beating a dusty rug if you shake them. (a google search will likely do...

    Climbing system failure

Agreed, knowing would be good. I don't think it would start a debate. There is NO PRODUCT out there that is 100% reliable forever. With time and after a bunch of use, ever climbing method out there is likely subject to some sort of failure if the proper checks and maintenance aren't done, not...

    Predator platform post silencing

Innovative. I have used bike tubing on strap buckles in the past, works good. I have Stealth Strips on my platform. Never looked back
