    Unsplicing Amsteel

I did it on my Skeletors with the CG aiders it was a little tedious but not difficult. Seems just as solid after as they were before.

"The official saddle hunting backpack thread"

Maybe this, or just get an actual pillow case and tie it shut https://www.rei.com/product/160289/rumpl-stuffable-pillowcase

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Kind of like training wheels, I like it I think I just need to try it on a pine tree like the ones I typically hunt. I was looking at that palm again today and realized it actually gets fatter as you go up.

    Why don't yall 2TC?

That’s the one I used too but didn’t have any tubular webbing to put around the end loop. Seems like that shouldn’t really be necessary right?

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Thanks! You’re probably right about the tree. Maybe I just need to attach a little piece of bungee or a castration band too the foot loop to keep my foot in so I don’t worry about dropping the foot tether down the tree.

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Had some Amsteel laying around so I made a foot tether per the instructions on Jerry’s video and used a tether rope that came with an XOP tree stand harness. Tried practicing on the only tree on my yard I could which is a Queen palm and has problems with the ropes sliding down the tree...

Tethrd One Stick Gen 3's - Season review so far

I ordered the GC One from BWO but have been using my Ultimaider in the meantime and think it’sa solid option if you are only going to use it on one step. The combination of the tubular webbing with whatever they put inside to stiffen the step makes it easy to get into and comfortable on your...

    Southern states. Camo

Either Badlands Algus or some Orvis pants I picked up at Costco and a wicking style of T shirt. Got a North Mountain Gear leafy jacket I wear on top plus a Mosquito net. I spray everything down with Permethrin. After Ian blew through we had a hatch of those giant Tiger striped mosquitoes and...

Saddle as a safety harness. Who does it?

I’ve done it a few times in my Latitude Classic 2 and felt safe running the tether under my arm keeping the slack out. That said it wasn’t that comfortable sitting on the saddle so I picked up a Dryad Killdeer harness. Haven’t used it in a stand yet but seems like it will work well

G3D Fulcrum XL Bow Hanger Alternative?

Wanted to get one of these to do double duty as a bow hanger and gun rest but they are out of stock. I shoot with my quiver on so want the longer version. Anybody got a good source for a similar one or want to sell one?

What’s one odd tactic or strategy you’ve used

That’sa great idea! I recently ran into this situation and thought it must just be the end of the road. I’m not using a movable aider but sure it would be easy enough to just set one stick.

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Thanks that looks pretty close to what I’m dealing with tree wise!

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Thanks for the feedback! Seems like worst case it would be about the same but potentially quieter. I think all the videos I’m seeing are trying to show how quick you can get up the tree not how quiet. A good portion of the noise generated over sticking for me comes moving and resetting the...

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Thinking of giving this a try. Right now my preferred method is to single stick up and rappel down but it can be pretty noisy in most of the trees where I hunt. How does 2TC compare noise wise on soft bark pines? I typically don’t have that far of a pack in so my main concern is stealth.
