    2024 Hog Hunting Thread

I was scouting WMA with my wife pre deer season a few years ago. Had a Mini-14 with me, just kicking around, enjoying the weather. A bunch of pigs of all sizes and colors busted in front of us and I went to work. I was firing rounds, trying to get clear shots, while my wife was hollering "don't...

    2024 Hog Hunting Thread

That sucks, and it's surprising. Biggest problem here is there's not near enough public land. The pressure especially during deer season is tough anywhere near Tulsa or OKC. Some of the guys I work with go a little further and find hogs with dogs about every weekend. I've got feeders on...

Same in Oklahoma. Coyote season is forever, and about anything is legal.

Hey dude - I'm in Sapulpa also. I do most of my hunting around Cushing or Henryetta. Lots of pigs around Henryetta.

    My challenge to you

About two minutes before I opened this thread I ordered a new aider from Hunt Arsenal. I'm not gonna send it back. I fully agree with the intent of this though, and fully agree. More time in the woods is the best piece of gear you can have.

Post-Season “Won’t make that mistake again” Thread 2023-24

Was on draw in hunt for does with my iron-sighted muzzleloader. Deer came through, but I didn't shoot it - early light, rain, couldn't see if it was spike or doe for sure. (99% sure it was a doe) Always carry binoculars. Set in the cold rain for nothing that morning.

    Your 2024 Elk Hunt

Yep, I do the same with desert biathlons. 3 day event in the desert, nice to get cleaned up and put on clean clothes for the long, long drive home.

How did you cook venison today?

Made smoked cheese links this weekend. Record-setting cold here in Oklahoma, perfect weather to make sausage.

How did you cook venison today?

Made some Hungarian Goulash with deer and deer smoked sausage. Used some actual smoked Hungarian paprika. It was beyond awesome.

    2024 fishing thread

Caught a few blue cat right before Christmas. Gonna be bitter cold here this weekend, so I may wait until the following week to hike up to my spot. I've been catching good blues up there in the winter for several years now.

    Movement

I just watched a video on that - dang it that looks awesome!

    Movement

I'm pretty new to saddle hunting, what I've noticed is I move a lot for the first hour or so, until I get "settled in". I use a platform and alternate sitting/standing. When I stand, I find myself swaying a bit. I use the back band and if I can get dialed in with it I can usually sit still much...
