    Anyone building their own bolts?

From the videos Ive watched, Helicals will work fine in modern crossbows. The benefit of the helical is that it start spinning the bolt as soon as it leave the rail. Which gets the arrow stable faster. I would think that would be very beneficial to shooting closer ranges (30-40yards). To much...

    Anyone building their own bolts?

I think i will. Ill need to strip one of my bolts to clock it so i know which direction the helical needs to go. Im not sure they may a left offset.

    Anyone building their own bolts?

Funny, i was looking at those exact Vanes. Im curious if offset/helical improves accuracy out to 40yards. Where I hunt, there arent many open lanes over 40yards.

    Anyone building their own bolts?

Hi All, I got a couple CE Piledriver bolts that need to be re-fletched. Im looking at picking up the Arizona EZ Fletch. Im looking for some Vane suggestions from anyone here with experience. Im shooting a 150grain 3blade fixed broadhead. Length? Stiff or flexible? Helical, offset, or straight...

    Fixed Blade Broadhead Recommendations

Broadheads will almost always fly slower than the same weight field point. The broad heads are bigger and have more wind resistance, which slows them down and typically hit lower than field points.

    Bolt FOC

Just curious what % FOC you guys run on your bolts. Ive read anywhere from 10-15% is optimal, but have read where guys are close to 20% as well.

    Carbon Express Piledriver Inserts?

I need to do some more paper testing when i get other field points in. But im guessing, ill need to add 75-100grain.

    Carbon Express Piledriver Inserts?

I could, but im looking at 80-100$ to replace the ones i have. Heavier inserts accomplish the same thing for about 20$.

    Carbon Express Piledriver Inserts?

I did. None of them were a .284 OD. I think they are for the Piledriver arrow, which i beleive is different from the bolts.

    Carbon Express Piledriver Inserts?

Im looking to add more weight to my Carbon Express Piledriver bolts. The stock inserts are ~11grain. The bolt I.D is .284. I cant seem to find any inserts with that diameter. Anyone know of an insert that fits these bolts?

    Deer Sh!ts?

It has only been the person trying it for the first time. Me, my wife, my kids, all have had it and been fine. But we have had it before. Also, wouldnt freezing the meat kill the bacteria?

    Deer Sh!ts?

It was definitely the meat, as it happened to two different people, two different times. Gastro issues arent uncommon with venison. Altho it typically manifests as gas.
