Thanks! I've been waiting to see what you thought. They're going on the shopping list. Sent from up a tree somewhere using Tapatalk

    Scentlok and Permethrin

Same. I just discovered the joys of Permethrin last summer during a bad blackfly & mosquito season. It's the Frank's Red Hot Sauce of repellents. Sent from up a tree somewhere using Tapatalk

    2017 elk trip

I agree... that does seem like a lot of clothes. I definitely get the fresh drawers and socks, but you could probably still trim that down a bit. Ounces equal pounds, and pounds equal suck when it's on your back and you're trudging uphill. One thing you might consider is bringing your two...

Machined Platform Post with XOP seat

Thanks! That's far too much in-depth math for someone who had to take elementary algebra twice, but the diagram helped me visualize why you would hit that 2.0 stress point at just the one point along the I-beam, assuming there's a corresponding "low point" laterally on the non-visible side of...

    Saddle verification

I've definitely had the same experience. I get a little better results with "hunting saddle", but there's still a lot of horse stuff in there. OP: Maybe try an appraiser, or a shop that repairs tack. They might could help you out.

Machined Platform Post with XOP seat

This is great work, but I have a question. I would assume that the majority of stress on the aluminum post during platform use would be in a downward direction, unless you're leaning to get around the tree. If that's the case, would the structure be improved by making the holes and cutouts at...

    2017 elk trip

Hi. I just joined a little bit ago. I'm re-doing my whole hunting setup after this season (hence the joining up here), but I can tell you my experience with hiking in and hammock camping (I spent several days this year remote camping in Savannah State Forest during rifle season). I have a...
