    Black hunter longbow

i would rather have a well set up cheap and ugly bow, with good matching arrows that shoot where I look, than the most high dollar, beautiful bow that is not set up and misses... with that said, part of the allure is to find one that does both. a bow that is a piece of artwork, that actually...

no.. it is literally just a 16" 1x2. i have a hole on one end to attach the rope. im working now, but ill see if I can pic or vid when Im off and post it up. works pretty good. when you first step from the loop (which is connected to both ends of the board that is roped to the tree) it gives a...

    Lightest Climbing Methods?

this year i did it several times. i did it with two sticks, one on each end of a lightweight 20' rope, and i also tried with taking 4 separate sticks with 10' rope. both worked. i havent cut onsite sticks yet, but I did it in the yard with good results. i would cut on site for a several mile...

    Lightest Climbing Methods?

shoot... i thought that said weight for an arrow... lol. my 45 lb bow shoots clean through, and breaks shoulder bones (not shoulder blades)

    Point on troubleshooting

im liking it real well so far... i would have scored with her the first night i took it out, but the buck was in the thicket, and my "thought it was clear" shot wasnt as clear as i thought... hit a twig. the buck would have been my largest so far, 16-17 wide and long tines, nice mass... im still...

    Amsteel Bowstring

I made a compound bow string from 50 lb spiderwire once, my brother still shoots that old proline... we did an endless loop. I would like to make a flemish with that string...

    Point on troubleshooting

one mark works for me. jimmy blackmon has a video about it and how to set it up and why... I struggled til i gave in and put a mark on there. I use white out, leave a little dot (if the riser is dark colored), but if the riser is lighter wood, I put a piece of freezer tape on there a a little...

How and why did you choose Traditional Archery?

simplicity. years ago i got a recurve for my 12th birthday, but I actually started hunting with it when I was tired of things either falling off of my bow or breaking, or the release failing, or slipping off the loop. less moving parts, for me, is a lot better.
