    New guy Amsteel question

So here is some positive thinking while 30 feet up hanging by a 3/8 piece of Amsteel. What is the prussik on a "store bought" (will not call out a manufacturer) you know who I am talking about - rated at? Would you use that same lifeline to pull your pickup out of a mud hole? What is the little...

    Fun with Titanium

Might help answer your "thread" question but I am not positive what you are asking for specifically if you want to elaborate in more detail I can probably answer with torque to turn failure data from dissimilar materials, bolt sizes, thread type etc..

    Splicing rope?

Is all Kermantle rope that parallel strand type? How do I know if it is double braid or parallel? It was a valuable lesson I learned (not to mention how sore my fingers were) - some very foul language that day!!

    Splicing rope?

I tried splicing the 10mm kernmantle parallel core rescue rope - complete fail. I struggled finding any supporting instructions or videos on splicing this style of rope without "thinning" the inner core so it fits. The best video that went step by step had 3 marks for exit, entry (to form loop)...

    Speedy Stitcher

Most army surplus stores carry the original Speedy Stitch with the wax thread. Less than $20. I used mine to attach a harness to my climber treestand for transportation - I am not brave enough to sit 20' up in a tree with it. It did carry my climber for 4 years without issue.

    Saddle Back support strap

FWIW - in the process of using a MOLLE harness ($5) as suspenders attached to my wait belt on my saddle. I can unclip the front two clasps and hook them to prussiks on my bridge. Pics when I am done. This way my saddle, ropes etc are carried on the MOLLE harness and I do not need to carry...

    Looking for some insight

If you require something a little more heavy duty without elastic - look up a carpenters tool belt suspension rig. They are durable support heavier loads and do not stretch. Military MOLLE harnesses work well too and are reasonable at most surplus stores.
