Tell me about your wife’s bow.

I got my wife a Diamond edge for the adjustability a few years back. I think we ended up setting it at 40lbs. We would do shooting dates where we would throw the kid in a pack n play at the range. Might get the kid a bow in a year or so if she shows any interest in it and put our new twins in a...

    Why don't yall 2TC?

You need to try one. It’s minimal investment. I used one for 4 seasons and plan to continue to use it when I get back home. I’ve got some ideas floating around in my head on how to improve it a bit like the ability for an adjustable bridge and a little more upper back support but I won’t be back...

Good article on setting up a Home Bow Shop

Those bike stands are dope. I have a similar one with three legs instead of two but same idea. Being able to rotate the bow at any angle really makes sight, rest, and string adjustments a piece of cake. The bow masters are also pretty good. I’ve done a few full string changes using mine.

Braided three 7/64 strands AS A BRIDGE???

I also used just a single 7/64 bridge for a couple years with my fleece saddle and a RC harness underneath it. Never had any issues. I moved away from that to a 8mm accessory cord only because I liked the way the rougher rope held me when I leaned. With the small amsteel it took more core...

What target for inside the house?

Tossing out another option. The rag bag from third hand. Stuff it with old clothes people are throwing out and it works great. I’ve put a few hundred shots into it and it’s still ticking. Every time my wife or I throw out a shirt or whatever I just stuff it inside. When the bag gets torn up...

Recommend RCH + Sit Drag for newbs?

I am all about this style. You don’t need to spend all the money and have the bizwang things to do this, and if you look back just a few years this forum was alive with innovation and doing stuff just like this. In fact, I am still using my RCH and fleece after 5 or so seasons and have no plans...

    Guido's question

It’s been a number of years but I believe it was a rigid bottom for the metal fork thing then a softer foam back. Definitely not a solid back frame though.

New to the DIY saddle / rock harness

Third vote here to go fleece. Even with the sit drag in the way I’d say go pick one up at Walmart for 5 bucks. It’s worth a shot for that price. Super comfortable and I am 3 seasons in on the fleece game.

    The ultimate ultralight saddle?

Bringing back the thread! I am now two seasons into using my DIY fleece with a Petzl Aspir harness. The biggest issue I have is storage. Currently I use a pack to carry my sticks and all my stuff, then unload at the tree and wear my pack up while I climb with my ring of steps and bow/gear...

    2 Person blind advice

I ended up taking none of yalls advice. Found a Primos Hidesight for $125. Normally about 200. Hopefully it pays off but couldn’t pass up for nearly 50% off. Thanks for nothing ya filthy animals!

I did not see that coming. Get it?

    2 Person blind advice

Thanks for the pointers, I’ll keep looking at them. I ran across summit vipers and cobras while looking but can’t seem to find much info on them outside of the places selling them. Also, as a general question, how long do these things last if I leave them out all season then tear down after? Are...

    2 Person blind advice

The wife wants to go hunting with me this year so I took her out and let her play in my fleece saddle At ground level yesterday. She is not a fan of it and when she saw me hang my sticks and climb up she basically said no chance she is doing that. This presents an opportunity for me to justify...

    Rock climbing harness Recommendation

I use the Petzl Aspir. Pretty happy with it. It has little gear wires on the outside of the waist strap that work perfectly for sliding a climbing stick into for going up a tree. I use it as a backup for my DIY fleece saddle and have no issues with comfort.

    Live from the saddle 2020

Found a disadvantage to hunting out of a saddle instead of a ladder stand.... the naysayers were right all along
