    Singer 31-15 vs 15-91 URGENT

Good to know. I’m traveling for work this week but #18 needle and v92 thread will be waiting at home and triglides as well. Should be hanging in saddle sat and Sunday. Pics to follow. Ty for all the help fellas

    Singer 31-15 vs 15-91 URGENT

So the consensus is ditch the 31-15 and take the 15-91? We settled on 120 to take the 31. I’m happy to just take the 15-91. At this point I just want to make saddles, and if the 15-91 can get through the 3 layers of webbing at the main seam I’ll be happy. My only gripe about the 15-91 is the...

    Singer 31-15 vs 15-91 URGENT

I know the 15-91 will work for saddles and gear but if the 31-15 can do it as well, the prospect of a servo motor eventually sounds great

    Singer 31-15 vs 15-91 URGENT

All things considered I paid 80 for the 15-91 but the guy had a 31-15 in his basement he wants 150. Can get both for 180 but I only want 1. Is the 31-15 worth it or just take the 15-91.

    Kestrel Clone

Seeing as I 1 stick, I seriously don’t use my linemen’s loop. Also, coming from a tree stand harness with d rings for a linemen’s loop, I actually liked having the linemen’s only on the top loop because it focuses the pressure on the top belt which is best imo for leaning back and staying upright.

    Kestrel Clone

All sewed up except for leg straps, ran out of time. Overall very happy with the strength of this saddle. I utilized sewing resources from the original kestrel thread, and from sailrite website. My stitch lengths and stitch counts for all structural seams are all over killed, had I not felt...

    Kestrel Clone

Im open to all options, and seeing as the sew up is in about 4 hrs I am running through last minute thoughts. I am also noticing that the second row of molly in the OG kestrel is what ties in the leg straps. IDK why but I feel like having load bearing on the cordura like that seems like a tear...

    Kestrel Clone

A major reason for doing the linesmen style like the phantom for me was that it looked stronger, I have 15ft of webbing to work with, and it would give me more molly on the bottom. Though, I also 1 stick and dont even use the linemen loops. So maybe I will stick with the Aero design and just add...

    Kestrel Clone

Thats kinda what i was figuring. I am thinking of doing a sewn eye girth hitch webbing bridge with a slide adjuster.. i dont mind stepping into a bridge and I think for the size it will have enough bite. Plus sewing webbing much more doable and less bulk that knots on any rope... and cheaper...

    Phantom Channel Comfort Keepers

seems like they arent all that useful without this mod?

    Kestrel Clone

I have decided I will be utilizing the tethered phantom design. Also, looking to do the comfort channel style for the bridge loops. I have quarter inch ball bearings.. you think too small?

    Kestrel Clone

Turns out I sewed the flat seems and not the curved ones on originally, so I recut my pieces and did it correctly. In hindsight now I get a backrest. Pics to follow
