Does anyone just use the ring of step?

I have never felt like sound or traction was an issue on mine.

Does anyone just use the ring of step?

I don't have any issue layering. I use full leg zip bibs and just zip them on when you get set up. upper layers are the same way, just put them on. If you want them tucked into your saddle just loosen the belt and tuck it down in.

Does anyone just use the ring of step?

I use the bullman ring of platform steps for 99% of my sits. 6 steps spaced equally around the tree. I only use a platform if I am going to be using my boot covers because they are a bit too bulky for the step.

ROS question: do you miss your step?

I hunt 95% off a ring. I find that unless I'm caught off guard, I only take one step to get into position of the deer is requiring me to rotate around the tree. most sits I never leave the steps I'm on unless adjusting positions. Now to answer the original question, I take small glances as...

    2024 Turkey Thread

I feel that in western Pa our population is better than it has been for the last 5-10 years. I killed mine on opening morning last year and he was with 5 others that were gobbling their heads off and often see flocks of 20+ in fields. I have seen a trend with higher fisher population areas...

I have the PRO-M harness and like it a lot. Someday, I want to upgrade to the forward operating harness and thinking about going with the chest rig for turkey and fishing.

    2024 Gear thread

I was listening to the meat eater podcast with a guy from FHF and he said the issue is they want to be 100% American made and there is such a small amount of fabric that is made in the US that they have to have the prices they have. they said you can get "assembled in the USA" with Chinese...

    Surviving Target Bucks

It was a great 2 part podcast. Kind of shows how easy it can be to fall into an almost innocent poaching scenario.

We put a pretty good beating on some Lake Erie steelhead and a few browns. This was my biggest in several years, 30” long and 8-9lbs.

    Surviving Target Bucks

The area it was shot in is a very high poaching area. all with small caliber rifles. We have found over a dozen in the last 2 years and that's not counting what they kept. Most are 100"+ buck. I'm sure it won't be nearly enough of a punishment for the damage that has been done.
