2024 Trail Camera Thread

View attachment 108343@BTaylor this better not be your kid.
Nothing kicks off the deer season like having to traipse through the woods looking for a trespassing teen yelling “I know you’re out there, red hair and blue shirt, and you definitely f***** up!”
Of course, it doesn’t take a genius to see this kid is probably only a danger to himself, but he’s old enough to know better than to walk around on the opening morning of deer season on a property you don’t have permission to hunt. Especially in street clothes with what appears to be a 20ga shotgun shoelaced to your shoulder. He walked by at least 3 of my cameras and possibly on the neighbor’s property (possible he IS a neighbor).
Yes it has crossed my mind that something more disturbing is going on than an underdressed, underage, underpermitted teenage squirrel hunter. Definitely taking the safety of my family seriously on this.
Would have been fun to have had a predator call on remote to touch of a coyote howl at that range. Only been to Ohio twice and neither time was the rut so cant be my kid.

It’s the neighbor’s kid as confirmed by another neighbor. I don’t think he’s a member on here but he and I share big bucks lol. I hear his pops is a nice guy but I’ve never met him so I’m gunna have to be tactful. Spoke to non-emergency before I knew it was a neighbor , but I’m glad I did because I have two businesses, an Airbnb, and my own family on the property so he just plain can’t be screwing around in our woods. Plus, his dad owns a few great hunting acres where my deer become his when I spook them lol, so no reason for him to be on our side which he must be aware of.

You need some "Trespassers will be violated" signs.

I've bought 14 of their cameras and 13 are still working fine.
Ugh those link micros have been nothing but headaches for me. I don’t even know why two of them stopped sending photos because Spypoint said I was all up to date (that’s why I said .5 of one wasn’t working, cuz it’s still sitting in the woods like a normal cam taking pics without sending), and another had a battery explode.
My Flex and another micro are doing well.
I’ll probably stick to the Flex from now on. Worth the extra 2-3 Alexander Hamiltons.

Weather has been really stale and dry. Just trying to see what's around without getting too crazy since I've not hunted yet. The private land I hunt is void of acorns. I'm just running the same land features I always have....basically going and coming from ag land. A few doe groups, I deleted a bunch of pics of does in a bedding area last week. Bucks will be there eventually.

Unfortunately I can't run cameras on public land so I have no idea what I'm looking at there......I just know the sign is there in much greater abundance than the private.

Had some interesting bear pics last night. Not sure if they are fighting or playing but whatever it was they used up 57 of my free 100 pics. Started around 8pm.

I’m a little more excited now. Picture of a picture. Pulled the card on this scrape yesterday after I hunted it.
