Adjustable webbing bridge

I’m curious if anyone had used a frame release webbing buckle as an adjustable webbing bridge. Obviously I’d tie a knot in the tag end of the webbing.

I would personally feel ok doing that. But... I only needed an adjustable bridge until I dialed it in. This (to me) seems like a solution to a non-existent problem. Just leave the excess hanging until you get it dialed in exactly how you want it, then knot it and call it good. You can then trim your tag end.

I can see that, being a new saddle hunter, I thought being able to adjust it on the fly might be an advantage until I get it dialed.

I use one on my tether but would not on a bridge. Under tension it stays tight, but could move when loosened. Something like this would be better, cheaper, and is similar to what Aerohunter is doing on their adjustable webbing bridge. http://www.paragear.com/skydiving/10000176/H449/
I have something similar to that slide being shipped right now from Strapworks. I'm anxious to make an adjustable bridge of tubular webbing.

And to @Tribesc, don't use a single wire gate 'beener. @Nutterbuster (? I think it was him) did a great demonstration how easily they can fail. Use either a double gate for wire 'beeners or a lock gate.

I agree with others. Use something similar to what new tribe is using. The one @DanO is using on the swaider would probably work also. I have that cobra frame buckle. It could inadvertently contact the carabiner on tether and release. I wouldn’t use it on a bridge.

You’ll note below my post , I said I’d use a locker, the wire gate was just handy on the table for the pic.

Yup, you have to be careful about slack. I’ve never had this fail on my tether, but I’m fanatical about zero slack when I use it.
