With folding steps and an odd shaped stick what have you found is the best way to attach a permanent tubular webbing aider?

I don't have the hawk heliums but I have the original version (Leverage Climbing sticks) I just girth hitch the 'continuous loop' of the aider around the shaft of the stick above the bottom step/standoff. never had one fall off (kinda impossible) and I have the benefit that I can slide it up and loop the aider over the top step when packing.
