I have a 5 step aider I use with my wild edge steps, can I or do any of you use a 5 step on hawk heliums? If so where and how do you attach it to the stick?

The problem with using so many steps on a Hawk is the height, most people arent tall enough to benefit from so many steps too difficult to get high enough for 5 steps to be worthwhile with a climbing stick

Put a stick at ground level. Climb attach the second stick and aider at 9 feet. Climb down and remove the first stick. You get 9 feet with one stick and aider

Is it safe to use the aider only using a couple of the steps after that?

Also where do you attach the aider on the stick, sorry never tried this method... Thanks for the help Ontario, lightbulb went off

Above 9 feet you cannot use all the steps
Some think aiders that long are not safe. Stay up right keep the pressure on the aider vertical and insert your foot all the way
I have attached the aider to the bottom step of the stick. And the top step if I am moving the aider from stick to stick. If I attach it to the top step I extend the aider
I don’t use this method anymore. I one stick.

I am confused. Aren't you using 2 sticks in this method to get 9'?

I'd like to get as high as I can, I have three sticks, one five step aider. Definately like the idea of what u gave me, now I need to know what part of the stick the aider goes on, do you use just the rope to attach, a caribeener?

I'm trying to figure out where to attach my aider on the actual helium stick?

Interesting, I could see using this.while one sticking. A little added weight could speed up the climbing time significantly

I use a Yates speed wall aider has 6 steps, this is how i do it. .Once I decide what side of tree I am climbing, I set a stick off to the side a little. I make sure my first step is just a little over knee high. Then get my other stick and aider climb to top of first stick and set the 2nd stick so that the first step of aider is just a little over knee high. Climb down take 1st stick off then hook on saddle, the other stick on other hip. Climb up aider to bottom of 1st stick in hook aider climb to top of that stick and hang other stick. The top step of 1st stick is about 9.5 feet from ground. From top of first stick to top of 2nd around 7 feet 2inches. Practiced this all last spring and summer. My platform is around 24 feet.I attach a string to aider and move it up with me. Next season going try 1 stick method
