Any use rectangular aluminum for sticks?

Was looking at possibly building some sticks all made out of this, post, steps, and standoffs, all welded, should be around 2.2 lbs with 24” post, 4” steps x4 and 5” standoffs x4, think it would work?

2"x1" would be over kill but yes it would work.

I would use 1" sq. No need for the bigger material. Do you have experience welding aluminum? It is probably the trickiest metal to weld, be sure to stress test your welds before you get them up in a tree.
