Anybody ever climb just to climb?

24" is a big ol step in full hunting gear. I can do box step up on the 24" box just fine but that has never translated to the woods for me. 20-21 is about it hunting.

It might be a little less. I'm a little over 6 foot and do deep squats in the gym and hip stretches (all wearing booty shorts, of course).

I've mentioned this previously, but when I got my saddle, I invested a couple weeks of basement time just getting familiar with it. Putting it on, making small adjustments, attaching the linemans to a support pole, installing the tether, removing the linemans and storing in my left dump pouch, getting it back out, removing the tether......over and over to build muscle memory. It definitely paid off in the woods and now that season has been over going on 6 weeks....I miss it. So I've been getting out the saddle and going through the same routine a couple times a week.....just for the fun of it.

With those new Beast Gear Sticks and DIY daisy chains, I am itching to get out in the wood to test them out. Plus my new pack rig will be getting more than dry runs in the basement at the same time. I believe it was here, but I read a while back that the individual was noting that they learned something every time in the woods with their saddle. Either something not to repeat or a "hack" that worked well and is worth adding to their system. I guess I am that same kind of guy......plus I simply enjoy new stuff.
