I made my own and used them all last year. Works well.

Search for aider or etrier on here and you will find a lot of threads :D

That one is 6 feet long. I would like to try something like that with out a stick just carry 3 of those 3 ratchet straps and a ring if steps.

Couldn’t be that far different from ARC ladder. IMHO

Looks a lot like the aiders I made and used the last couple of years. I have some tubing on my steps to keep them open - otherwise the sides tend to pull together when you step on the bottom step.

I have used 2, 3 and 4 step versions. I recently sewed up a 5 step version to hang either from a WE stepp or from the top of my hawk helium sticks.

I like that idea! Would be very packable! Maybe use an OCB to avoid the noise of a ratchet. Do you think it would be an issue getting the aider away from the tree enough to safely get your foot in the steps?

I don’t think so as long as you sink your foot in deep all the way up.

Here is a pic of what I had made that I promised. Little hard to see In this pic... Lots of other good or better designs out there also. Think I may switch to an aider I carry up the tree......

I wonder if you could make it so it goes on the top of the stick so you can bring it up with you. That looks exactly like what I'd want. I just need to get me a sewing machine
