Just bought some 5/16 Amsteel Blue to make an adjustable "whoopie sling" bridge. Has anyone else done this and like it? I'm waiting on the Amsteel and just wanted to see some examples of how long, loop sizes etc you made with it. I would make it a fixed bridge but I like the idea of having one a can adjust from say 20"-40".

I did on my aero hunter. Went from 20" to 40" like you said. I loved it but then bought a Mantis. Since Tethd figured out the best bridge length I just went with that 24" I think.
I want to go back to adjustable. and removable. I would like to have one for SRT & sitting. I also want to switch to webbing.

mine is that way until i find he bridge length that works best for each different saddle, then I change it to my desired fixed length, spliced bridge

Yes, I have about 1/2 of a season with an Amsteel whoopie bridge. When I made it, I had full intentions on playing with the length until I determined my ideal bridge length. So far, I've kept the whoopie. Someday I may convert it to fixed but for now, it's just fine.
I did order a Flex with webbing bridge to see how I like a non-Amsteel. I might end up eliminating Amsteel all together. Time will tell.

Thanks for the replies guy, glad to here a whoopie will work well, pretty excited to finally have a decent bridge. I've tried webbing, and maybe because it wasn't tubular, but It definitely felt pretty sketchy at height. I used 2' seatbelt webbing which is like 6,000lbs but when you can see have thin it is it just feels like it can break... it was probably all in my head but I want to have something more "robust" than webbing.

Just wait until you are hanging from a bridge made of that amsteel -- you thought 2" seatbelt webbing looked small !
I had an adjustable amsteel bridge for a while but barely ever touched it to lengthen/shorten it. For me when I got a comfortable length bridge I adjusted my set up with my ropeman vs the bridge length as this simplified any hip squeeze issue for me.

I guess that's why I consciously/subconsciously had to get some 5/16 amsteel which is approx 13k lbs breaking stength and about 8mm in comparison to most prussick cords. The seatbelt webbing kinda freaked me out because it kept the "memory" where it was bending around my tether carabiner and would really smooth out and it seemed to be wearing even after a few uses.
