As the title says. I'm sitting here looking at 12 strap on steps and thinking the reason I ever stopped using them was the buckles slipping (and climbing sticks getting way better, but that was when my hikes to hunt were less than 1/4 mile).

I have half a mind to give it a shot this season with OCBs. With my stride I can reach 20-21' with 10 easily.

I also have been sewing elastic loops on the end of my straps to ball up the tag ends - that was another peeve of all the straps dangling in wind.

Thoughts?

They would hold better for sure. Putting 12 up for a mobile sit would be a drag though. But it never hurts to try it out and see how it works for you :D

10 of them would weigh 6lbs. I'd climb with two linesman belts to go over branches (and use them for additional height when applicable). I loved using them when I first got them, I could just never get them tight enough, and I hated seeing those tags flailing in the wind. I've got quite a few ocb's laying around, I may give it a climb or two to see how it works out.

I was just curious to see if anyone had done it. I guess the price of the steps now is prohibitive, most people are just buying a handful for a platform.
