API Ring of Steps

I’m considering switching from my Wild Edge Stepp Ladder as a platform to using a ring of API steps. I’m new and wondering if anyone has tried this or has any ideas about how they would work? I’d definitely want to silence them down a bit.

Not sure which steps you have but @redsquirrel has probably used them. If he says they are junk then offers to buy them don’t sell.

Yea they will work. There are guys using those steps for a ROS. I don't find them to be as stable as some of the other designs, but they are definitely better than anything currently out there. Get them tight with a boat buckle (see the sticky) or a ratchet and you should be good to go.

I have a setup of skyhooks on a boat buckle. I think they work great with rough barked trees...they are a little less stable on smooth. They pack better than ameristeps and are lighter. IMHO they are better than bullman. Those brown straps that come with them are WAY too flimsy. upgrad those to a stiffier strap to use with the OCB boat buckle that red suggests and you'll be just fine.

I use a ring of 4 of these steps along with my top WE stepp. I have the on a cam buckle strap, they move around a little but not enough to bother me.
