So I'm new to the saddle mobile system and trying to figure everything out. I've always hung a few lock ons and hunted those. Being super mobile has always intrested me. So I'm getting into this, just got my saddle a week ago and still hunting , have a week left. I'm working on what works best for me this last week to be ahead of the game next year. I went out yesterday with my saddle and API sticks (un modded) and soon realized this was not going to work. I could not fasten them to my backpack very well because they were to long and it just felt awkward.

So today I cut them down. They are 21 inches long with a 20in step. Pretty much all I had to do was just move things around on the stick and cut. The middle step hole is the new button hole and the button hole is the new top step. I'm going to add an ader to the bottom 2 steps to get me up higher and will see how that works. They still stack just like they did from factory. I think I might do the amsteel rope maybe give that a try. Also waiting on steath strips to wrap the sticks.

Have you tried them on a tree yet? The spacing/location of the button is very important. If not located properly, the stick can become unstable and be prone to kickout.

I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just saying make sure you try them out before you hunt with them. Measure the originals and apply the same ratio to the minis.

Sure did.
I was worried the button location was alittle high. But I rearranged everything and put it on the tree before cutting them all. It felt good and didn't move. If you look at all the sticks the button is always towards the top step. I think the hawks are the closest to the top step from what I have seen in pictures. If it doesn't work out all I will have to do is drill a hole and move the button down some.

Just ordered 6 today thx again. Ive been using lone wolf sticks for years, but I wanted sone cheaper ones to cit down

Awsome.
If you do the mod. You dont even have to measure. On the sticks the side with the tree foot there is a bigger hole it will be just above the factory button location. It will be the only bigger hole in the sticks. The hole was for stacking the sticks. They made a change to the button the screw head is resest into the button now instead of sticking up. The hole was for clearance for the bolt head when stacking, but since the bolt is now resest in the button no need for the hole. So it worked out perfect to cut at the bottom of that bigger hole. Couldn't be any more simple didn't even have to measure. I have a couple sticks I'll post a pic what I'm talking about.

Hear is how they looked packed on my alps back pack. And here is a measurement of the step. Came out perfect at 20in step.

Sewn aider is nice if you can sew, or just do water knots. Or a moveable if you like that. Daisy chain is hard to beat too. Best sticks for the money for sure!
