Anyone use these arc style knee pads? They look to be nearly identical to the Arcteryx LEAF knee pads at half the price? I’m wondering whether to give them a try...3416CBEA-BC7E-40B2-A623-D3EA74087B8A.jpeg

Guys have been using these Chinese knock offs and liking them for the most part

They say that they are good copies of the more expensive Arcteryx knee pads

I have Arcteryx already and bought a pair of these knock offs today on eBay based on the positive reviews from fellow SHs

Look for the name Emerson ARC knee pads
I paid $21.95 today

Prior discussion is that the knockoff are typically more slick than the brand names. Something to consider if there is loss of friction there will be loss of function to you

The foam or the kydex face plate is slicker than the originals? I assumed the foam was a different density on the knockoffs and the plastic is likely more brittle on the buckles. I have the real pads, but thought about ordering a set of the knockoffs for a backup pair.

My understanding is the faceplate isn’t as grippy on the majority of the knock offs and slides more easily on bark. I went with Lowe’s pads because I couldn’t find the grip I wanted in the non name brand versions

The thread “knee pad suggestions” covers a lot of this, around post 72 the knock off arc pads are discussed

I put my Arcteryx under my pants. Keeps them from snagging on stuff walking it and the fabric supplies all the grip I need when in the tree.

I put .25 cents of grip tape on them. They nail into the tree now and saved $50

how secure are they? the fasteners look really cheap and delicate. do they come undone easily?

I also have the Arcteryx also and bought these for a cheap back up set

I am a very large guy who is very hard on things. These were solid all season. I cant recall a time when they came unbuckled. Everything still works as new. At least the ones I have. Not sure if there is diff. Knock offs. The ones I have for $18 I cant imagine them being any different material than arcx. Same with the Knock Off Shwacker broad-heads I shoot for a fraction of the price.
