Attachment methods for XOP platform

I have an XOP seat platform that has an amsteel whoopie sling to attach it to the tree. I am not sure I like that set up . I have only used it once, so maybe I don't have my technique down yet.

Just wondering if anyone uses a different way to attach to the tree. Lone Wolf strap and versa button? Ratchet strap? Boat buckle strap?

Looking for options.

If you don't like the whoopie sling, you can try the stepp knot or use a lone wolf strap. @g2outdoors has a video on that method

I didn't like the whoopie sling either, just didn't work for me. I switched to the lone wolf strap like Erniepower said. Here are couple of the youtube videos. Good luck!

Did I read about some issues with the straps breaking when using the lone wolf straps on xop seat platforms?

You can over tighten the strap and then break it, but if you don't get crazy with it, you shouldn't have any problems.

Yes. But I believe in the end it was because there was a sharp spot on the metal that cut the strap.

As a test I put a wild edge rope into a platform and never sanded down the edges of the platform. The picture below were after about 3 days of ground testing using the stepp knot. It started cutting through the rope due to the camming action with the platform. 8AFAFA5C-8028-482B-BD52-A33FDC3E0C55.jpegD0D21415-B253-4058-897D-599094EE4A6C.jpeg 8B8561FE-FAD3-431E-AA9F-2137BBF50F07.jpeg

Thanks. I am going to smooth the edges on the platform, and experiment with a LW strap, continuous loop of amsteel, and a carabiner. I was reading another thread about adding steps to the strap and saw the continuous loop. Looks like a winner of an idea to me. Need to experiment now.

Just be careful with what ever you try
