Ok so all the biners I have for the most part are what came with my guido. So anyone familiar knows the size I am referring to. Could I use a smaller one for the teather? The one I using now is the large one

I wouldn't and don't. I tried using small locking carabiners for my tether and a few times it caused me to take a few seconds to get clipped in when the gate was being jammed by rope.

Are the guido biners steel? Hate that...
Check out the Petzl "William" screwlock. Very light, super easy to handle with gloves on, doesn't snag on rope and cheap AND widely used.

I don't think they are steel as they are very light.

I have the Web and several Williams by Petzl. I love the biners on the new bridge. At one point they had a recall - see flingin's sticky if you aren't sure but assume you've seen it.

I don't know why you couldn't use the same carabiners on your bridge to tether connection. But I don't know why you would. Quick easy hook up for just a few more grams... Each carabiner is rated and size doesn't mean as much as the rating. There are plenty of big ones that aren't rated for what we are doing.

Second the petzl William, but go with the triact (auto) lock IMO. If the William is too big, try the AM'D which is somewhat smaller.

I just ordered a bunch of these double locking no mess no frills simple and safe.

You guys with the Triact, any problems opening one handed? With gloves?

I feel better recommending auto locks to new people but I have the screwgate movement so ingrained in me that I never want to switch.

And I have been in situations where I needed to hold on to a tree or rope with one hand and quickly clip in with the other.

I have not had a chance to use them but the motions are similar to the smc biners on the Newtribe saddle. I was originally going to buy the ball lock version but I heard they were not friendly with left hand operation which isn't a deal breaker but I like same functions on all my gear.
