Black bear from a saddle

Finally got this done on Labor Day this year, after several years of effort. Tree saddle along a salmon spawning stream, just as the fish were arriving, produced a 15-yard shot at this brown/cinnamon phase black bear. He was eating devils club berries on the stream bank, and about to wade in for a fish when I smote him with a 200-grain Cutthroat broadhead. He had not eaten many fish, based on the condition of the meat, which is excellent.FullSizeRender-compressed.jpeg

Wow congrats! Big bear! Now, where did you get that 8 arrow quiver?

Beautiful bear! Congrats! Did you get a skull measurement
Beautiful bear! Congrats! Did you get a skull measurement or weight?
i’ll try to get the head (and paws) skinned out tonight. No weight - he came out of the woods as game bags full of boneless meat and a hide. The hide laid out with the skull and paws still in squares about 6-1/2 feet.

The quiver came with the bow (Redhead Toxik XT by Diamond Archery). I think the quiver is Octane brand (Bowtech’s accessory line) but it doesn’t look like they still make it. Might find one on eBay.
Ok was thinking it was something new. Again, congrats on that beauty of a bear!!
