Hey everyone,

First off thank you for your time. I just saw a post about saddle hunting and started looking into it. I hunt soley public lands and this looks like a great setup.
However,
although I understand the saddle and a platform, I have no clue what lines to use or (the names of them). I don’t understand how you climb safely with tree sticks and a harness.
In short I’m looking for either a thread, video, or website that is set up for a dummy like me to understand Haha.
Thanks y’all

There are several stickies at the top of newbie section you should look at. Very informative stuff there.

New to saddle hunting as well. I think have watched every saddle hunting video on YouTube and I've gone thru this site (now one of my favorites) front to back. Waiting for my saddle going crazy!

I'm in the same boat. Wanted my first bow buck to also be first saddle kill.

Some good advice about g2 and DIY vids.
I would add this...saddle hunting has a bit of a real world learning curve. Traditional tree stand use doesn't vary too much from hunter to hunter. The old ways have some standard, basic ways to be elevated but saddles seem to be much more personal to the individual. What one guy likes may not be user friendly for the next 10 guys.
Don't get discouraged if your initial attempts seem cumbersome or disorganized. I doubt that many guys get their system perfected right off the bat. For a lot of us, the challenge of tweaking and tinkering with our rigs is part of the fun of saddles.
Experiment, share your findings, ask questions and return to the drawing board when something needs improved upon.
Saddle hunters feed off of the trials and experiences of other saddle hunters which spawns new ideas.
I love this stuff.

That is sound!

I've hung in the yard a number of times and hunted a few as well. This is my first year using the saddle.

Each time it's back to this site to solve a problem of some sort!

This site is an amazing resource!
