I had a slow morning the other day, so I figured I would do a little scouting and this is what I found. There were no tracks due to all the rain, no hair, and no rubs at this location… the only way I knew a buck was in the area was up on the ridge near the Ag fields I found a lot of large buck poop and a trail leading up the ridge.

Watching this later

Looks like a place I hunt here in the upstate of SC . I found a 8 point dead in such a spot. Hope you get a big one there. Thanks for the video

I’m so glad you pointed that out! I hunt ETx only, and I keep finding spots that I believe are buck beds but I never find any hair or poop and if I do find rubs they are 20, 30, 40 yards away.

Just about the only sign I ever see is there aren’t as many leaves in that spot as there should be judging by the leaves on the ground around there.

Tracks and big poop are important indicators for me. I seldom, if ever, find hair. Usually there are rubs. The rain this week washed away any sign and it is still early for rubs - at least in the area I am hunting the rubs are not showing up - probably due to the heat?

Temps should be dropping into the low 60’s/upper50’s by Monday, right as I get to go hunting!!

I sure hope so - I am limited to weekends at this point.
