Anybody doing anything to better camouflage cams? I have a three pack of the cheap muddy’s on the way that are an odd brown color that will stick out. Seeing if anyone has done anything to hide them Better? Thanks

Assuming you mean camo from people not deer? I use brown ‘camo’ patterned thin paracord vs the straps. The straps are what you are likely to spot as its a big horizontal line on a vertical one. That, plus put them up above my head. No ones taken them yet…

What tightening method do you use on the Paracord?

i sponge paint mine a camo that looks like bark around here and use a q tip near parts i don't want paint on (lenses and such)

i made a bunch of wood door stops and paint them the same (and drilled a hole through them to make them easier to lash to tree)

i put my cams up 8 to 12 feet and angle them down using the wood wedge/door stop

almost invisible

I do this ^^^^
Plus I use wire around the tree.
Sometime I will glue bark to the camera.

Ive been taking a climbing stick with me and hang em high on a DIY mount with the paracord idea vs the strap as mentioned. Havent had one stolen yet and sometimes even i have hard time finding them!

I had four stolen last year. Learned my lesson. Now have all in trees. I put 8 cameras in trees this year. 4 regs and 4 cell cams.
I put readable numbers on the fronts…started with #16 thru 23
Keep the dirty Bs thinking they may be photographed on 1 they missed. Lol!

there's some really good elastic paracord you might like, it really holds the wedge/cam tight to the tree and is pretty durable

i got it from either paracord planet or SGT Knots (sergeant knots)....both have amazon stores

I didn't take any pictures but at one point I used ammo cans as lock boxes. Cut out a window for the lens and flash, drilled out for an eye bolt and padlock. For every 1 cam we had 4-5 decoy lock boxes, set 12+ feet up, and could rotate the camera through the decoy boxes. Decoys were sited to look like they were watching other cameras, and were also camouflaged with bark and limbs and pine boughs and whatnot. One was a pretty convincing-looking squirrel nest that took the better part of a week to glue together. Looking back I wish I took some pictures of those.

Rubber wire for the attachment to the tree which is an Olive or Foliage Green color that matches in super well with most bark. I also like to use narrow cheap cameras on public like the $28 Tasco's. On public I hang them up high but I've also found the OD color of the Tascos seem to blend in pretty good. I also try to put mine in narrower trees that most people don't think a trail camera will be mounted too. I've also invested in @7mmremmag 's excellent camera mounts that he sells on his Etsy Store. They work great and he offers an automatic discount if you're a member of this site. I do have one black Bushnell HD that I've been using for years that I spray painted and it blends in well. My cell cams are just on private at this point.

I get green rubber wire at Menards, in the garden section. Never thought of using it to hang trail cams. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have a few broken cameras up on my property in plane sight as decoys with other cameras hidden. I had a few stollen when I first moved in and just hoping to catch them doing it again. I put my working cameras up on limbs facing straight down or very tucked away in brush piles and multifloura rose which is everywhere. They are very hard to see. I even had on that I took a large piece of bark and put holes for the camera and laid it back up against the fallen tree… forgot about for about a year till I was cutting firewood and found it.
