Carabiner Flex?

Today was the first time I’ve used a carabiner on my TL saddle. I’ve always used the strap.
Predator tether with 8mm sewn loop.
schwabish hitch to a grivel mega twin gate.
I chose this biner to accept the factory strap on the TL.
While practicing with it I noticed when I opened the gates to see what happens it would open the biner.
(Did this at ground level.)
Just enough that I had to unload it in order for the gates to click shut. Maybe 1/16” movement. Is this to be expected in a carabiner?
Really am digging this setup compared to the original strapping.

What is the kN rating of the biner? Also, opening of the gate when hunting would be an extremely rare case.

Specs say 27. I agree that it would be darn near improbable the gate would open during use.
Curios to know if other biners have the same kind of movement.
This is a pear shaped biner so with the wide strap I wondered if it’s acceptable.

I think almost all biners will flex a little if opened under load. I once tried to hook the tail of my tether into the biner after I was set up. I took probably 50% or more of my weight off of the tether before I opened it and I still couldn't get it to close properly. That was with the stock Kestrel biner. It made me realize that there is a reason they say biners should never be opened under load.

NEVER OPEN A BINER UNDER LOAD!!!!!!! THE GATE IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE DESIGN. THE RATING ON THEM IS GATE CLOSED. If there is ever a chance a biner would open during use, it is an appropriate place for a locker, or two biners with opposite and opposed gates
