The rope tether that came with my HSS vest is what I've been using to play around with my Mantis. Is the carbniner that comes with that rope strong enough? Should I get something stronger?

Is it the blak steel screw gate? its plenty strong if it is, just heavier than hell. Get an aluminum one from a name brand climbing company--mammut, petzl, wildcountry, etc...you'll be surprised on the weight savings...
