Carrying a knife

i shift my leatherman to the front, it rides in between my last belt loop and belt buckle, and can sit over top of the saddle belt strap. sometimes i need the saw in the tree to... NOT cut branches out of my way.

I have a fixed blade in my pack but carry my Zero Tolerance 0350 in my front left pocket the same way I do every day.
While not asked I also still have my Glock 19 in an appendix holster. That creates a little more of a challenge properly securing the saddle but it works and I haven’t had any issues. Only downside is access to my pistol is a little slower.

I don’t need a knife but man, I have found that having a pair of handheld pruning shears handy to be be invaluable when making my way through thickets in the dark. They go through those tough ass green briars like nothing, and are great for triming smaller limbs at hunting height.

I have a fixed blade in my right pouch on my saddle. Also have a limb saw, flash light and head lamp in that pouch. If I am stuck hanging from a rope I am getting down one way or another.

You fellas carrying a neck knife, any worry about having a slip and it catching a limb and hanging yourself? Anyone use a breakaway if you are using one? I always have my knife on me, benchmade bugout is my everyday carry and I have a few I rotate thru for in my pack when hunting. My uncle wears his neck knife everywhere but in aviation/construction where I spent most of my life that’s a death sentence leaning over an engine or running belt without a breakaway.
Neck knife gets tucked underneath second layer of shirts. It'd have to be something special to get the knife out of your shirt during a fall and cause issues. My neck knive's holster has an adjustable lanyard so shortening the length of it goes to further reduce chances of snagging.

My multi tool stays on my tactical belt which I fasten over top of my saddle so I have those knives as well. My actual skinning/gut knives are in my pack.

chest holsters are awesome for woods carry, totally out of the way and super accessible, it scares other people you meet in the woods, which is good or bad (looks tacti-cool)

i climb with a kydex chest holster from 2A and clip it to my tree accessory strap once at height
