I have two cell cams in Indiana state that are going through batteries every month while another like camera in north central Pa has been running since the end of spring gobbler. All three camers are the same make and model set with the same settings. All three camera have factory suggested energizee lithium AAs. Any suggestions for me?

Wonder if there is a difference in cell signal strength between the PA & IN locations, are all 3 on the same firmware?

Everything about the three are the same. The one in PA was in Indiana last year and it had the same issues. It definitely has something to do with the location. Does anyone have any experience with external batteries or solar panels?

Do the two cameras send a lot of pictures compared to the one?

One sends a lot while the other is on par with the PA cam. So yes and no. But they went dead within a day of each other.

I no longer deploy cell cams without solar… if it’s a shady spot a separate battery bank but right now all are just solar. Once it’s setup, without an electronic malfunction, runs indefinitely.

Can you provide some information on your solar and battery bank set up? What cell cams are you using? Cell cams should be a fire and forget tool. Going dead once a month defeats the purpose. Especially when you have to drive five and a half hour to change batteries.

I’m running Cuddelinks and Stealthcams and for both the manufacturers sell plug and play solar for them. I do have a Bushnell out there which for whatever reason has crazy good battery life so I haven’t moved it to solar yet. Check if your cam Mfgs sell a solar panel and if they don’t you can verify the voltage of your cams and find an appropriate system for them.

Yeah this is a good point, I only crank up the frequency right before I start hunting, then crank it back down when I’m done.

All three are on a once a day download. I know it doesn't make any sense. It has to have something to do with the one thing I can not control. South East Indian cellular service.
