Hey all I just got into saddle hunting this season and scored a deal that may help others. I've been a member of a local rock climbing gym for years and know they change their ropes out on a schedule. I spoke to one of the managers, explained the kit I was putting together for my saddle and asked whether they had discarded rope that would be safe to use and available to purchase. They gave me more than I needed at no cost. If you've got a gym nearby it may be worth asking-could save you some $ getting started.
