Climbing Stick Hooks

I'm using these small hooks (I think from Dutchwear) that are paracord looped into the molle on my Kestrel to temporarily hang/store my sticks as I set or take down at the tree. The hooks fit and hold paracord nicely once you get it clipped into the hook but they are a bit of a challenge to find and hook when they are behind your butt and are doing it simply by feel. Curious to know if anyone has a better recommendation for easy transport of sticks as you load and unload sticks while going up or down the tree?

I have 4 sticks. 3 lone wolf and a hawk. (Goes at the top) I put the bottom 2 stick up before I start the climb. The 3rd I kinda hold on to and bang around till I get high enough (improvement needed) the 4th I hook to the loop using a rubber wire tie I picked up at home depot. I use them to help hold the sticks together when walking in too.

@DanO I dig those hooks

I tied hooks to the step with d-loop material (similar to you, but reverse), and hang the hook on the molle webbing, or any easily accessible loop I can find (i.e., bridge loop, suspenders). I normally hang 2 steps (one on either side) while I climb the tree.

I just use the Kestrel's bridge loops to hold one Helium stick on each hip as I climb. Just place the standoff in the bridge loop and gravity holds it in place. Easy to reach each stick when needed and doesn't get much more simple than that.

The bridge loops does sound pretty window lickin simple. I will try it.

Anyone ever try adding a hook to the stick itself and hooking it on the stick that's already on the tree? For example, place first stick on the tree. Then hook stick 2 and 3 on the first stick( possibly behind the tree strap). Climb first stick, reach down grab second stick hanging on first stick set on tree. Move third stick from first stick to second. So on. Thinking maybe a barbless fish hook. Screw through the eye into the stick. Hope that makes sense, haha
