Combining SRT and LW hand climber?

The thought came to me the other day to prep trees that I can use my LWHC with a paracord loop like you would for an SRT climb. I already have the rope and madrock lifeguard that I usually rappel with. My thought is to pull my rope up into the tree with the preset paracord, hook in with my lifeguard, set the hand climber and climb, taking up the slack with the lifeguard as I go up. Would save me from having to move the tether up as I go. At the end of the hunt, just rappel down like I usually do. Haven't had time to actually try it out, but it makes sense in my head. Any thoughts or anyone else try this?

That doesn't seem like SRT. Isn't that just repelling. Why not actually SRT up the tree if you have it preset?

I’ve only got 2 climbs with the hand climber so I’m no expert. I like the idea of having the platform attached to my feet and once I’m to height, no fiddling with setting a platform. I just figured since I’m bringing the gear anyway, this would save from stopping every two movements or so to move my tether up the tree.

100% agree - I would just SRT up as well instead of using the LW if you already set a preset.
