Consider the Ropeman 2 instead of 1? What think?

Looking for recommendations on these two. I don't have my rope yet, so diameter is not that much issue. I am sold on the Ropeman but find is hard to get a Ropeman 1 for a decent price here in Canada. did find the 2 on a good deal, so hence the question. Thanks ahead. RR

Lots of discussion on here about this but what it boils down to is:

Ropeman1 is rated for use with 10mm to 13mm ropes. Smooth operation in those rope ranges. Most have little to complain about. I like them.

Ropeman2 is rated for use with 8mm to 13mm ropes. The teeth on the ropeman 2 are aggressive and chew up the rope sheath at some point. A lot of people including myself who use 8-9mm rope use the Kong duck instead. It costs a lot more but it's rated for smaller diameter ropes and doesn't damage it through normal operation

I use ropeman 2. You just need to pair it with the correct rope, a rope with a more durable/stiff outer sheath. It works well with sterling htp.
