This isn't a review on this model specifically, although it has worked great for about 30 cuts I've made the past couple weeks. It's more about the folks just getting into this game - I've burned through about 40.00 in scissors and razors cutting rope webbing and amsteel. Tack on about 15.00 in lighters melting the ends.

This thing is fast, and does both steps in one. I had a smaller less robust version that worked ok for a while that I bought used - it burnt up recently. So I ordered this one.

Takes about 20 seconds to warm up, and swipes right through anything we throw at it. I sure wish I had this thing about 10 years ago through today, it would have paid for itself in time and scissors and lighters about 20 times over.

that looks pretty awesome. I have a hot knife that i use at my work, but this looks alot better. THanks

That thing is awesome. Didn't someone used to make an attachment that did this for this pistol style soldering irons?

I use a Mapp gas torch and heat a chisel red hot cuts and seals.
