I have. I haven't hunted from it yet, but have practiced with it. Works okay. As Plinker22 said, it's heavy. I cut the square metal tubing about 10 inches down from the seat and cut and welded four 2" standoffs out of the leftover metal tubing from the bottom half. I cut the ends of the standoffs at a 45 degree angle to make points that bite into the tree. I also welded an extra piece of metal tubing between the two upright tubes for added strength. Can't get the original strap tight enough to make it solid, so I use a ratchet strap.
It's heavy, and the ratchet strap heavy and loud, but if you have an old stand you don't mind destroying, it's a cheap way to get a solid platform.
