Diy prusik

Hey guys, new to the forum, and going to be new to saddle hunting. Thursday, I ordered a sit drag, tether rope, and amsteel. Going to use my muddy safety harness along with it. However, I forgot to order rope for the prusik. What is a good rope for using it. My tether will be 10mm sterling static rope. I know you cant use amsteel, and that it should be roughly 60% of the tether rope size. Thanks guys!

I've heard of 60-80% of main line diameter as well. I use 7mm prusik on 9mm & 10mm main lines.

I have used sterling accessory cord and it works for me. You can get it at most outdoor stores that have rock climbing gear and they sell it by the foot.

When ordering I had good luck calling and talking to Wesspur's climbing expert. For Predator rope I ended up with 8mm Bee Line for my prusik rope.

That 8mm Bee Line is super for lots of applications. I’m going to run one on my tether as primary hitch and use the sterling 6mm line it came with as backup/autoblock or accessory hitch.
