DIY Tick Spray

While I agree this is one of the absolute cheapest ways to go, I would caution against this particular product if you are hunting deer. I've used gallons of it and while it works awesome, the petroleum smell seems to last forever. There are other water based options that work just as well and have no smell after drying. The downside is that they cost quite a bit more. Just pay attention to the concentrations and mix accordingly. Martin's brand and Happy Jacks Kennel dip are two water based examples but I'm sure there are others.

Going to the lighter concentration and using ozone seems to work well for me but Id be interested in what your water based option would be? I am always open for improvement. I use ozone and what not but I dont really practice scent control. I know paint has come a long way from oil base so....

I think you could go even lighter than a gallon. I believe on livestock its sprayed at an even smaller concentration.

The two water based products that I have used are Martin's brand permethrin and Happy Jacks Kennel dip. I don't remember the concentrations of active ingredient in each off hand but I know they are different. I just dilute it to get somewhere between whatever they recommend for use on dogs (which is a much lower concentration and closer to what you are using now) and the .5% that is present in most commercially available products.

I don't see a whole lot of difference in terms of effectiveness at the weaker mixing rates but I will say that I lean toward a slightly higher concentration of the water based products (closer to the .5%) . I also use a similar concentration (.5%) of the oil based product from TSC, around the yard and buildings as I think it "sticks" better and has a longer residual effect.

Use Martins 10%
I didn’t watch your video there’s literally 2000 of them on YouTube. I make mine like Catman529 in his video but I don’t spray, I dip them and hang dry my clothes. I only spray what I cannot dip.
